Privacy Policy
1. Overview
GatiKavach is a family safety monitoring app. This policy explains what information we collect from Guardians and Riders, why we collect it, and how it's protected.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: full name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, and home address, provided when a Guardian registers or adds a Rider.
- Location and motion data: GPS location, speed, and accelerometer/gyroscope readings collected from a Rider's device while a ride is being tracked, used to detect crashes, hard braking, overspeeding, zigzag riding, and geofence crossings.
- Ride history: routes, distances, durations, and the safety events and score generated from the data above.
- Device information: a device identifier used to associate ride data with the correct device and to deliver push notifications.
3. How we use this information
- To show a Guardian their linked Rider's live location and ride activity.
- To detect and alert on crashes, hard braking, overspeeding, geofence crossings, and SOS requests.
- To compute ride history and a safety score over time.
- To send a one-time login code to the email address on file when a Guardian or Rider signs in.
- To send push notifications for safety alerts.
4. Who can see your data
A Rider's location and ride data is visible to the Guardian(s) linked to that Rider's account. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third-party advertisers or data brokers. Data may be disclosed if required by law, or to protect the safety of a user in an emergency.
5. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted (TLS) connections and stored in a database that is not directly reachable from the internet. Login uses a one-time code rather than a stored password. As with any online service, we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.
6. Data retention
We retain account and ride data for as long as the account is active, so that ride history and safety scores remain meaningful over time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Section 8.
7. Children's data
A Rider account may belong to a minor. Minors do not register themselves — a Guardian (an adult) creates and manages the Rider's account, and is responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law before doing so. If you believe a Rider account was created without appropriate authority, contact us using the details in Section 9 and we will investigate.
8. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us at the email below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or data requests, can be sent to ramesh.k@iworktech.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
